Welcome to Center for Brain Leadership

I help leaders and employees become more stress positive, resilient and emotionally intelligent

Welcome.

Years of consulting with various organisations on change management, agility, culture and mental health have taught me an important lesson: change is hard and change is painful.

We see it with ourselves, in our daily lives. We are creature of habits, for good and for bad. We promise ourselves that we will follow through on our resolutions, but fail miserably when it comes to actually doing it. If 60% of smokers resume smoking after a heart attack, what are our chances of implementing important changes in our daily lives?

The same applies for work. Our workplaces and organisations are changing at an increasingly fast pace. Younger employees have different expectations. Roles are disappearing. Goals are now more agile so that priorities can pivot more easily. Our overall concept our work is being transformed. As a result, most of us are being asked to adapt and to become more flexible.

For many people at work, this is incredibly difficult. Remember, we are creatures of habits. And of beliefs. And of fixed behaviours. Is it any wonder that the idea that around 60-70% of change projects fail continues to persist? Whether this is fully correct or not, we have experienced this challenge ourselves.

Changing an organisation is incredibly difficult. It is made of systems, processes, behaviours, beliefs, and experiences. An organisation is in fact a very complex organism that can react in unexpected ways. Ways that can not always be controlled. Unfortunately, in most cases today, transformation efforts focus on controlling change and on telling people to change. This does not work, or only minimally.

I noticed this problem regularly with my clients. And I created a solution that addresses this problem. What is needed is to work with leaders, teams and employees to help them understand why it is so difficult to change our habits, beliefs and behaviours. To help them understand the why, the what and the how to change. Because we CAN change. If we really want to, that is. Neuro and behaviour science shows us how.

I created Center for Brain Leadership to build a network of freelance experts in the field of science, mental health and consulting. We help leaders and employees become more resilient and manage stress and change better and through this, to increase performance, well-being and efficiency, enhance decision-making and reduce absenteeism.

I also consult with private individuals and in person in my therapy room in Berlin. You can find more information here: www.burnouthelp.berlin
